MOVING!!!
Wow...umm...I haven't updated my journal since the beginning of this semester. I'm basically the master of fail. But that's mostly because I kind of migrated fully to GreatestJournal without realizing I was fully migrating to GreatestJournal; it lent itself FAR better to RPing, so I started RPing there...and eventually, I got a journal for character development, which then turned into a CDJ/personal journal.

But now, my darlings, GreatestJournal is on its deathbed. They will claim it is not, but that is because they do not like to tell us what is going on. :( Anyway, we folks of GreatestJournal are now migrating. I'm not sure if I will end up back here, on InsaneJournal, or on CommieJournal, but jasdakjsd, life is crazy. I'm going to move my journal to [info]coeur_delanuit, though, since I've been meaning to move for a long time, anyway, and now all of my journals will match. So now, again, in big letters, just in case people didn't read this first part...

MOVING TO [info]coeur_delanuit. SORRY I HAVEN'T UPDATED IN A LONG TIME.

You can feel free to add me if you like, though I admit I was bad-bad and did not update this for a long time. I'm sad that I've lost touch with a lot of you. :(

I wish LJ, IJ, and CJ were as nice-looking as GJ...but I suppose that is life.

ULTIMATE FAILURE. SUPREME LOSE. LOTS OF BAD STUFF.

Today, the icon count dropped down to ten, email notifications stopped working, entries can't be edited half the time, and the site is going ridiculously slow. It may not die, but we are preparing ourselves, just in case. :/

Yeah...we've all been in an uproar since about noon this afternoon, backing up journals, migrating, and panicking amongst ourselves. We keep our cool well. But really, RP is SERIOUS BUSINESS. D:

Thank you! I may just try that whole "cross post to all the journals" thing. I'm not sure which way the migration winds will blow, but I've got pals here that I have been neglecting, so if GJ does die, and we do migrate, I may just cross-post if they don't all come to LJ. Basically everyone is getting an LJ (if they don't already have one), an InsaneJournal, and a CommieJournal. WE ARE ALL VERY SAD AND CONFUSED.

I WISH YOU HAPPINESS AND CLARITY!

That's hardcore. I can't stant IJ on a purely shallow basis. It's hideous. The ugly smiley is a mistake.

RP is totally serious business! /wants to RP. >: I miss it.

Good grief, IJ is HIDEOUS, but we are desperate, and we have to pay for icons here at LJ. And we RPers? We love us some icons. GJ spoiled us. :( But we also like GJ's pretty design. AGAIN, SPOILAGE. Hence why we aren't sure where to go yet. Woe.

FOR SERIOUSLY. IT IS WICKED SERIOUS. SER. I. OUS. But yeah. I'm not sure if Narshe will be re-located (which is that game I was pitching before), but if we do relocate, and you're interested, I'll tell you. <3 BECAUSE WHAT IS LIKE WITHOUT RP? SAD. THAT IS WHAT.

I'm not sure why I keep capslocking, but I do.

IJ makes my eyes bleed, and the "mental patient" thing is annoying as Hell... but it doesn't eat my icons and make me reupload them ALL THE TIME.

...It does, however, make me choose from all my several hundred icons of some PBs (which is really hard for, in particular, Joseph Gordon-Levitt (550-ish icons), David Tennant (650-ish icons), Jamie Bell (...I don't even want to try counting), and Paolo Nutini (350-ish icons), all of whom I love and use pretty reliably). But at least I don't have to upload my 100 icons twenty different times.

Touche. The icons are, in my mind, the only redeeming factor. It was getting infuriating, having to constantly re-upload, and now that we are down to ten? FUNNY JOKE. -___-

But I mean, GAH. Not even the alternative styles are attractive at IJ. Why can't it be nice-looking like GJ? :(

And having to do it AFTER you've used the icons was the worst. I had a Miles Bletchley whose favorite icons got EATEN, so I had to write down the exact keywords or else the default would've gotten used.

Probably because it's efficient-ish. Some techies have a good sense of aesthetics; they usually go into video game design. Other techies don't have a good sense of aesthetics, and they design sits like IJ.

THAT IS DEFINITELY THE WORST. So frustrating. Or when you upload and keyword all 100 only to have ALL OF THEM eaten the next day. Though the already-used ones? Uber-frustrating. And I don't usually HAVE a default icon, since the layout code I use gets messed up when you have a default icon...so it's even worse. :(

That, my friend, is a tragedy. They need to adopt a technie with a good sense of aesthetics to be initially horrified and thus driven to save them from themselves.

Really? I don't find GJ pretty at all. Then again, compared to IJ, it's the fcking Aphrodite of journal sites.

I really love the name Narshe. I may not have told you that. It's just so gar. Garshe. Nah, that sounds like goofy. AND I AM INTERESTED LIKE EVERYONE'S SERIOUS BUSINESS.

Capslock is the best. Don't even. DO NOT EVEN.

Well, okay, not pretty so much as NICE AND CLEAN. But yes. Compared to IJ...I mean...just...aksdjla. Yes.

Why thank you! It was my co-mod's idea: it's from an earlier Final Fantasy game. Garshe.......hee. EXCELLENT, THEN. I WILL INVITE YOU INTO OUR SERIOUS BUSINESS ONCE WE KNOW EXACTLY WHAT THE PLAN IS, Y/Y?

CAPSLOCK FTW.

I went running and trying things out as soon as they disabled new account creation, so now there's the LJ, the GJ, the InsaneJournal, the CommieJournal, and the scribbld.net account, which still hasn't been validated because they still haven't sent the email to do so. And Thursday was my mad frenzy of backing up, oh... my favorite character journals and their comments, two different communities, my RPG compilation journal, my OOC journal, my Albus Severus/Scorpius PSL... yeah. I'm scared for GJ, which makes me just generally anxious, since... I haven't been without it since Kicking Up Leaves started, and I get really upset when someone goes mucking with my routines.

I know!!! Kicking Up Leaves was my first venture to GJ, and I never strayed since...because...it's GJ! It is supposed to be our haven! OUR SAFE PLACE. HOW CAN THEY TAKE THAT FROM US? :(

It wasn't until today that I lost hope. I was holding out that disabling account creation would help them get back on their feet, but I'm just not so sure anymore. I have all of my active RP journals backed up, as well as all of my retired journals, save a handful that I only updated a few times and with nothing particularly substantial. I've moved my CDJ to IJ, and I'll move a copy to CJ once it stops acting up. CJ and IJ's servers seem to be taking a bit of a hit from all the GJ migration traffic.

Woe, bb. Woe. I feel like a piece of my heart is being taken away from me.

On my part, it was less losing hope and more doing market research on where was the best place to move games to, since I'm reopening/making a sequel to Dissevered once I'm done with what my school considers finals, and I'm working on a game with [info]aurieal that we had all ready to go, except for promoting and getting characters that weren't played by the two of us. And IJ is the only place that actually spells out what it'll give you without you signing up, so I scrambled and got myself two other journals I'll probably never use, just to see what we got at those sites.

It might get better, though! Snezana and two others are working on setting up a server that's designed just for RPing and CDJs, and there's apparently something known as scribblit that a lot of people are waiting for. I, personally, am just glad I managed to back up the good stuff that I had at Occlumency and Dissevered before the still-hypothetical-but-looking-entirely-more-likely GJ perma-crash. And that [info]aurieal and I got our Greek mythology game set up on IJ before the GJ migration made the servers get bitchy and slow.

The sadness is mixed with the desire to kick ~system in the teeth for running the site into the ground as he has.

I have finals this coming week. I had planned to spend all of today studying, but instead I backed up journals. I got SOME studying done, but I know I really need to crack down tomorrow. Mehhhh. And yeah...I have CDJs here, at IJ, and at CJ now. I'm holding off on character journals until I know for sure.

Yeah, I saw that. I'm pretty certain MadWorld is moving to that server, so my Remus and my Evan should be safely housed there. Inksplotted MIGHT move there, and if so, one of my Reguluses will be housed there. Altus Luminarium might move there, so the same for another Regulus...I'm not sure about my other games. I'm kind of worried about them, but Reg's journals are all backed up anyway. What is scribblit supposed to be like?

It's so true. *sigh*

After I sleep, I'm just disconnecting my Internet until I have my two papers and one of my plays done. And trying my damndest not to think about this fiasco. It really compromises my ability to not fail my classes, which... yeah. That'd be so much more than wretched.

I know that the mod at Bloodlines already moved it to IJ, so I just have to make journals for my *inhales* Barty, Alice, 13-year-old Percy, nine-year-old Terry Boot, nine-year-old Mandy Brocklehurst, 12-year-old Cedric, and nine-year-old Harry on Ugly Server. My character journals are backed up, though, and LJ-Sec should be able to move them, even if the comments only exist in the back ups (which is only important for Alice and Percy, really, since their journals turn into comment parties... and everyone just ignores Barty, since he's the only DE in the game). Aside from that, I don't really need to move anything just yet. Just make sure it isn't going to die.

Scribblit... I have no idea. But, apparently, it's supposed to be good. There's a comm for it, actually -- [info]scribblit.

I really should. I should hide my laptop under my bed tomorrow and not mess with it until I have sufficiently studied for my exams so I do not FAIL THEM MISERABLY. Whether or not I will actually do that is questionable, but it is a good idea in theory. I wish my roommate was not out of town...I could ask her to hide it from me. Though then I would probably be like WTH JORDAN GIVE IT BACK D: which would then defeat the purpose...anyway...right...yes. D:

HAHA, nice. Poor Bartybaby. DEs have it rough when they are by themselves. Losing the comments is made of the ultimate SAD, but unfortunately, it seems we will just have to DEAL. :( I'm glad I at least have everything backed-up with LJArchive, so it won't be the end of the world...but it's still no good.

I will have to check it out. :o

I'd hide my laptop, but then I'd never get anything done without it because I'm incapable of writing papers by hand, and, when I write my plays by hand, typing them up takes forever. And, frankly, I wouldn't trust anyone but my RA to hide it from me (which is convenient, since she's one of my suitemates)... but I need it. Just not the Interweb. D:

He had a Bella for a while, but then her player got a boyfriend and abandoned RP entirely, and Barty was left alone, going, "...I'm evil? But none of you know that in character? So you should, like... play with me?" And no one bit on that, excepting eight-year-old Ginny and nine-year-old Daphne Greengrass, who had a fight, at one point, over whose friend Barty was. ...Oh, snap. One of my favoritest threads from that game ever isn't on one of my journals. Damn, damn, damn, damn. I'll be backing that up by hand, I think.

All of my studying to be done is from past tests and the textbooks, so I don't need my laptop to study. I never write papers by hand either. And we have wireless in our rooms, so it would be a pain to cut off the wireless...I may *GASP* go to the library or something because being in my room always tempts me to NOT do my homework. There are so many more interesting things to do in my room. Like RP and play video games and talk on AIM.

That's lame. RP should totally trump boyfriend. :P POOR BARTY. But that is so cute. Like, seriously. xD

I never did get into GJ. LJ really is the only place for me tbh. I tried GJ, but for some reason I found it didnt have as much as LJ did (in terms of communities and whatnot).

But OMG YOU'VE UPDATED! YAYZ.

I know, right? It's kind of sad, in a way. :( BUT ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END, AND STUFF. *moment of silence*

As far as fandom communities, it didn't have as much, but it is WAS phenomenal for RPing. I hadn't planned on making the stay permanent, but it kind of happened out of convenience. Though I really wasn't technically 'journaling' for very long there. I moved all of my entries from GJ to [info]coeur_delanuit, including...the final OMG GJ IS DYING panic entries, now that I actually look at it. xD

OMG I KNOW! SO SHOCKING!

awww *pets* I know the feeling of journal frustrations! I'm one of those who's gone back and forth like a pendulum trying to stick to a journal. I was on GJ for forever, until I got tired of having no friends, and having to reupload icons. >.<

*snuggles* I got so used to the convenience of GJ. I've been RPing there for awhile, and as I made friends through RPing, it was simplest just to make a journal there, too...and then I was lazy about updating this one, and yess...oh MAN re-uploading was a pain!!! We have our 100 back, but I bet GJ will still eat them because GJ is a JERK. I think I'm going to stay there to RP, since it seems to have risen from the dead (literally, if you've been keeping up with it the past few days), and I'll try to motivate myself to update here, too. xD

*yay!*
